Having played football since i was four years of age, i can truly say that football is my life. I consider coaching to be the best job after that of being a professional player. In my capacity as a coach i see it as my responsibility to educate children in the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, the importance of exercise and a well balanced, nutritional diet.
At active soccer we endeavour to nurture children’s individual skills and also their ability to play as part of a team-after all that is what football is all about!

Active started the game in blistering fashion, as they have been without a league fixture for 3 weeks.
Mitchell opened the scoring, after some fantastic build up play from the midfield. Active’s 2nd was a superb team goal, which saw a Beckham like cross from Tom McGrady who was playing in his preferred position of right wing, cross to Finley Swift to volley top corner. (Keeper had no chance). Active continued to create chances but unfortunately couldn’t add to their 2 goal margin before half time.
Maghull had chances themselves, one cleared of the line by ever present Josh Lynch, in centre half, and after rounding keeper Paul Williams, Maghull where denied by the woodwork, which came to active rescue.
The second half was more off the same from active soccer, constant pressure too increase their goal difference, and eventually their hard work was rewarded with 4 more goals from Joe Valori, Tony Mangan, a 2nd for Mitchell Culshaw who now leads the race for the golden boot.
The goal of the day was without doubt by Ben Size a fantastic free – kick from the edge of the area, it was a goal as soon as it left his boot, and he deservedly won Man of the match for his performance at left back.

ACTIVE SOCCER 7 VS 1 URSULINE SEAHORSES
Active Soccer returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory.
The under 11’s didn’t have it all their own way though with the score 0-0 at half time. However this was not a true reflection of the game, active soccer’s dominance and quality of play was not being rewarded. As the first half developed, active soccer thought this was going to be a case of déjà vu as their last fixture against the same opposition ended 0-0. Five minutes into the second half substitute Ryan doubled his goal scoring account for the season to get Active up and running.
Ryan soon added his 2nd & 3rd to round off a fantastic hat-trick. Mitchell who also was a substitute came on and scored two well taken goals and Active’s captain Finley was on the score sheet twice and his first goal a contender for goal of the season.

Active Soccer continued their 100% start to the season with a fantastic team performance once again.
Active where 1-0 up after 10 minutes through great play by Culshaw & Valori, the dynamic duo. The pair where on hand again for active's 2nd & 3rd to make it 3-0 at Half time.
Silcox started the 2nd half the strongest with a quick repsonse to the manager's half time team talk. This made active respond magnificently with goals from Tony Mangan, Louie Thompson and unsavaable penalty from Ben Size. Man of the match this week , was Paul Williams who made some fantastic saves which even Pepe Reina would be proud of. Next week match see's a top of the table clash against the invincible TMS.
This will be a great test to show how far the boys have come in a short space of time

ACTIVE SOCCER 10 VS 0 SCARISBRICK AFC
Active Soccer's first game of the season kicked off in style with a fantastic team performance.
Active started the quickest, and wanted to show why their considered a force to be reckon with this season in the Hightown League. 1-0 up after 5 minutes from vice captain Mark Harrison – (goal of the season contender already).
Last year’s top goal scorer Joe valori started the season like he’d never been away, scoring a hat rick. Goals also from Ryan Edgerton, Louie Thompson, and Tony Mangan who was making his active debut, great start for him getting on the score sheet twice. Their where also debuts for Paul Williams, Josh Lynch, and Matthew Hatton. Adam Hurst, who played centre midfield, also scored 2 and was Man of the match. Active Soccer were missing Finley Swift & Mitchell Culshaw.
There will be tougher challenges ahead for the boys but this result will no doubt provide confidence & self belief!! Our next fixture vs. Marina Sands Tigers – Saturday 12:15pm

Planing, Preparation and Assessments
Active Soccer has compiled a comprehensive programme that provides qualified coaches to schools to deliver games lessons at Key Stage 1 & 2. All lessons are based on the National Curriculum and the Val Sabin resources material. Assessments are also prepared by the coaches in conjunction with the school to measure the children attainment levels.
Active Soccer provides:

Extra-Curricular
Active Soccer provides Breakfast, Lunch and after school clubs. Not only do the clubs support your schools extended school programme, assist parents with child care provision, but they also provide a safe fun environment for children to learn new skills and increase their confidence and level of physical activity.
The clubs are very easy to set up, as Active Soccer will provide all application forms, registers and certificates for all the children. We can also attend your school to promote the course during one of your school assemblies. The children then hand in their completed forms to the school secretary or your nominated member(s) of staff and our staff will be there to kick off your after school club. Or if your School prefers your local Active Soccer Head Office can handle the course entirely ensuring your school do not have the extra worry of this activity.

Fundraising
Active Soccer has come up with a fantastic initiative to help raise money for your school and we will do all the work. Your Pupils gain sponsorship to take 3 shots at our Active Soccer Target. The day provides the school with an excellent opportunity to raise funds with sponsorship money. The Children are encouraged to collect sponsors with some fantastic prizes on offer:
- Every Participant receives a certificate
- The best penalty taker in each class receives an Active Soccer voucher
- Every Child that raises over £50 receives an Active Soccer Football
- The highest fundraiser in the school receives the full Active Soccer Umbro football Strip

Coaching Courses
ACTIVE SOCCER HOLIDAY CAMPS
Active Soccer holiday camps are run every school holiday ranging from 1 - 5 day courses at different venues throughout the UK.
The courses are for both boys and girls aged 4 to 14 years of age and cater for mixed ability from beginner to future stars.
The days consist of fun, healthy and inclusive coaching sessions, covering all aspects of the game, along with playing small sided matches and end of course World Cup tournaments.
Special trophies & awards can be won on the course. Break times are provided and we make children aware of aspects upon diet, nutrition through fun quiz’s, crosswords and drawings.
All participants will receive a course certificate and there are lots of competitions to win, including the penalty king and the active soccer best attitude award.
SATURDAY MORNING FUN CLUBS
The courses are for players of mixed abilities aged between 4 and 12 years and run over ten week blocks for one hour on a Saturday morning each week.
The course is designed with the aim of the children having fun and learning new techniques each week.
At an Active Soccer Saturday Morning Centre children have the chance to win a Most Improved and Best Attitude trophy. All participants receive an attendance certificate signed by their coach after the World Cup competition that is held in the final week.

SUNDAY DROP AND SHOP SOCCER
Sunday Drop and Shop sessions give parents the chance to collect their weekly shopping and leave the children active in a fun, healthy and inclusive environment playing soccer with our qualified coaches.

PARTY VENUE
Active Soccer can stage the birthday party in your back garden, school, local park or we even have links with several superb indoor and outdoor sports facilities (please note hired facilities as an additional cost to rates above). We would be happy to assist you with the booking of your venue if required.

CANCELLATIONS

- All our staff are CRB checked, First Aid Certified and all our Coaches are FA Qualified
- If your child is attending an Active Soccer party, we'd advise that you prepare them with:
- Football clothing, rain jacket, trainers, football boots and shin pads if available
- Plenty of drinks
- Sun cream if hot weather is forecast and a towel if there's a possibility of rain (dependent on venue)
