Liverpool Football Coaching for 4 - 14 year olds

Scott Wildman

As a football coach the most important part of my job is that the children I work with have fun. Laughter and enjoyment need to part of every one of my sessions. Football is a such a fantastic sport. You can use it in so many different ways.

Children can learn much more than just football skills whilst playing. Important life skills, relationships and respect for others can be developed.

My personal view is that football should be available to all irrespective of circumstance.

And where better to start than at grassroots level. We should encourage children to play from as young an age as possible. In our position as coaches, we are role models and have the opportunity to teach them about a healthy lifestyle, exercise and good diet, which they can take into their adult life.

Finally, you need to love the game and have a genuine passion at grassroots level.

If you think you have these qualities - work hard and become a football coach.

Active Soccer U10’s tournament success

Active Soccer Juniors U10's took part in the first annual football tournament in aid of the Ben Gautrey Foundation this weekend at Scarisbrick Hall School. Benjamin Gautrey, sadly lost his life on August 29th 2011. His father set up  ‘The Foundation’ with a  purpose  to support sport from grass root level and  promote the sports in which Ben was so passionate.

One of these was football. Ben played for many teams during his football years but one thing he had in common with all of them was that he captained them. He started his football off playing for Southport Juniors before moving to Ainsdale Juniors. He represented league sides through different age groups aswell as representing Marshside Primary School and Stanley High School.  At the ages of 8 and 10 he had trials with LFC. In a fitting tribute Liverpool and England International Conor Coady was present during the day to present the trophies to the Winners and runners up.

Active Soccer U10's played in a league with 6 other teams before going through to the Semi Finals. A dramatic encounter which was finally settled after several penalties from both sides! With Active Soccer winning they then faced Southport FC in the Final.

Active Soccer were excellent from the Kick Off playing their best football of the day and deservedly took a one goal advantage into the half time break. Following this they continued to play some exceptional football and created several more chances before finally scoring again just before the final whistle and securing the victory.

A fanastic day was finished with the trophy presentation and team photos.

All the team were a credit to the coaches and their parents and we look forward to taking part next year at U11's.

Our thanks and best wishes go out to The BG Foundation for their kind invitation and excellent hospitality.

St John’s Fundraiser

On the 10th March Active Soccer Liverpool held a Fundraiser for St John's Catholic Primary School in Kirkdale.

The pupils were sponsored by family and friends to take 5 shots at the Active Soccer Target inflatable. The more they scored the more they raised.

Best attitude trophies, medals and certificates were also on offer to children who excelled throughout the day.

Each year group spent an hour with Active Soccer coaches. After taking their shots the children had the opportunity to challenge their friends on the biggest and newest of our inflatables. Through the tunnels, round the slalom, shoot at the target, GOAL!! Fantastic fun. A brilliant day was had by all.

The following week after all the sponsorship money had been collected Ms Maudsley, St John's Headteacher and Active Soccer held a joint assembly in which to give out the awards and announce the final amount raised.

Every pupil was presented with a certificate. Six Best Attitude trophies were awarded, then the pupil from each year group who raised the most money was presented with a football.

Finally the highest fundraiser received a full Active Soccer football kit.

The pupils raised an amazing £903.50.

A Terrific effort by all. Well done St John's.

Testimonials

Active Soccer has been a great asset to our school.

Scott and all the Active Soccer coaches have always been very professional in their manner. They are enthusiastic, skillful and extremely complementary to the ethos of the school.
The pupils respond very well to all the coaches and they have developed high quality Physical Education skills under their tuition.

They have offered our school a wide range of different activites such as after school clubs for all our year groups. They also offer a quality P.P.A. option with all the staff being first aid trained and holding enhanced CRB clearance.

I would not hesitate to recommend Active Soccer to other schools.

Thanks Active Soccer.

Mrs McDonnell
Headteacher St Matthew's Catholic Primary School, Queens Drive.

St Matthew's Catholic Primary School

Active Soccer have been an integral part of our school for the last 12
months.

They have proved to make a valuable contribution to both our sporting
curriculum and after school activities. The respect that they have earned during
this time has been from staff, pupils and parents alike.

Children of all ages respond with enthusiasm and show great motivation when working with all their coaches.

They have helped our pupils achieve a higher level of fitness and promoted a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise plans.

I would encourage any school to open it's doors to Active Soccer and see what a difference they could make  to their pupils education.

Nicola Aldcroft - P.E Co-ordinator, St John's Catholic Primary School, Kirkdale.

St John's Kirkdale

Active Soccer have been running an after school club at Childwall Valley Primary for Key Stage 1 and 2 and the response from the children has been excellent!

The coaches are friendly, organised and provide all the equipment for the children who are offered a wide range of activities. Many after school club numbers will drop after a few sessions but because the children are kept active and motivated they keep coming back!

I would definitely recommend Active Soccer to any school.

Sarah Weymouth - PE Co ordinator, Childwall Valley Primary School

I cannot thank Active Soccer enough for my son's party, kids and parents had a great time. Lots of activities to keep the children entertained and staff were brilliant. I Would have no hesitation in recommending Active Soccer and will definitely be returning for another party.

Thank you.

Kelly, Evan's Mum

The party was very well organised, no hassle - everything was done for us. The coach's relationship with the children was great and he went to great lengths to learn the boys' names very quickly which was an important factor in them enjoying it as much as they did.

Would thoroughly recommend Active Soccer for a party.
